Principal's Corner

Greetings Parents and Families of Emerson Community School:

Hello and welcome to the 2021-22 school year! It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Emerson Community School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education! I have been officially appointed as Principal of Emerson Elementary School effective July1, 2021. Prior to joining the dynamic team of Emerson, I served the Plainfield Public Schools in a variety of roles over the past 28 years. I have served as an elementary school teacher, lead teacher, athletic coach, vice principal and principal. I believe that, “Smart is not something you are, smart is something you become!” Great schools are the result of great teachers, and positive parent relationships so my main objective will be to ensure that every student receives a high-quality instruction from every staff member here at Emerson School. Our theme this year at Emerson will be,

I am extremely serious and committed to a ensuring a first-class education and look forward to partnering with you to continue to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality educational experience. As the parent of two children who attended Plainfield Public Schools, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. I believe by working together, we will ensure your child’s proper social, emotional, and academic needs.

COVID-19 has had a profound impact on teaching and learning. It has not been easy, but I promise to serve the Emerson Family in the best way possible to ensure our Champion students’ success. I will be working closely with our School Leadership Team (SLT) along with the families of Emerson Community School, ensuring that your child’s education is maximized to its fullest potential. We continue to encourage your 100% involvement with our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) as our partnership will ensure your child(ren) success. I maintain an open-door policy to ensure your voices are heard and validated. Included is my email address, [email protected] or contact me though Emerson’s Let’s Talk app located on our school website.

In closing, I would like to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve your children and please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share for the advancement of Emerson Elementary Community School family.

Sincerely,
Dion A. Roach
