Principal's Corner

Dear Emerson Family,

Welcome back, again!  We are happy to report that on November 9th, 2020 we will be receiving students in our building for the first time this school year! We are very excited to receive our students whom we have not seen since the middle of March.

Our district has adopted a hybrid system for our students’ return. Students have been separated into Cohorts A and B for in person instruction, and Cohort C for those that chose to remain remote learners. Cohort A will come to school on Mondays and Tuesdays. Cohort B will come to school on Thursdays and Fridays. All students will remain virtual on Wednesdays. Our school day for in person students will begin at 8:05am and end at 12:30pm. Virtual instruction for all students will continue from 1:30pm until 2:30pm. Lunch and the following day’s breakfast will be served as a “grab and go” process.

For the parents of our returning students, please take note of the following important points of information:

  • All students must wear masks.
  • Doors open at 8:05am. Students should not come to school before 8:00am. Even during inclement weather, students will not be allowed inside.
  • Students must come to school prepared with their charged device.
  • Students must be picked up on time at dismissal (12:30pm). Students that are routinely picked up late will be transferred to Cohort C until the end of the marking period.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at the school. If I do not have a chance to speak with you before the end of the month, please have a Happy Thanksgiving!
