Dear Emerson School Families,

Welcome back to the new school year! I hope this letter finds you well and that you have had a restful and enjoyable summer. As the Principal of Emerson Community School, I am pleased to welcome you back to another exciting and productive school year.

The start of a new academic year is always a special time filled with anticipation and new beginnings. We are eager to welcome our returning students, and extend a warm welcome to those who are new to our school community. Together, we will embark on a journey of learning, growth, and success. Remember we are members of an extended FAMILY and together we will move Emerson School Forward!

Our dedicated team of teachers and staff have been working diligently over the summer to prepare for the arrival of our scholars. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and challenging educational environment where every student can thrive. Our focus remains on fostering academic excellence, encouraging social-emotional development, and promoting a love of learning.

This year, we have several exciting initiatives and programs planned, including Panther Academy, FFC, Emerson Theater Group, Emerson Co-Ed Basketball and Track and Field, Technology and Art Clubs plus a host of new clubs and activities to actively engage your children. We believe these activities will greatly enhance our student's educational experience and support their overall development as lifelong learners. Part of our long-range goals is to drastically reduce the number of chronically absent students and decrease overall school tardiness. Early is on time, and on time is LATE! School begins at 8:00 AM!

I encourage you to stay connected with our school community throughout the year. Regular communication between home and school is vital to student success. Please keep an eye on our school website, newsletters, and other communications for important updates and information about upcoming events and activities.

The Emerson School community is invited to join us in August for two orientations: Kindergarten Orientation from 10 am to 12 noon followed by grade 1st through 5th from 12 PM until 2 PM We will be hosting our annual Back-to-School Night on September 24, 2024, at 6 PM and I look forward to seeing many of you there. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teachers, learn more about the curriculum, and hear about the exciting plans we have for the year ahead.
